Assignment: PSVita
This assignment was for showing students another practical application of how to use Photoshop for portfolio work, using shapes and layer effects to digitally recreate products. I chose to recreate a product I have myself and made the PSVita.
This piece uses many layers with effects to recreate as accurately as possible the real product. Gloss, refraction, shadows, and material all had to be realized in the finished product. It was quite the experience to learn to use layer effects in this way, and I really enjoyed the process. I plan to continue making these digital products considering how simple the process is and how fun it turned out to be. |

Assignment: Alchemica Sports Drink Ads
This assignment was to introduce students to the 3D tool in Photoshop, as well as act as the final project for the class. It was include all the tools and methods we had learned during the class combined as creatively as we could.
The goal was to create two advertisements for a fictional sports drink. The image had to include a person, decals and vectors, brushes and effects, and of course the 3D assets. My take on the assignment was a alchemy themed set of drink flavors mainly due to my access to costume items to fit the theme. I green-screened myself in-costume and edited the image to have better lighting and coloration, then used brushes and vectors to create the alchemical circles. In the end I felt the vertical poster was the better of the two, giving a stronger feel for the theme and a better application of the tools. |
