Crimson Shadow: Idle-Walk-Run Cycle
This is the idle-walk-run cycle animation for the main enemy used in the Crimson Shadow project.
The mesh is fully rigged to a human skeleton using a custom control rig, pole vectors, and - in order to fully control the model. The control rig allows the hips, waist, torso, head, arms, feet, and hands to move about with limits to their range of motion. Secondary rigs on the hands also control the motions of each of the individual fingers using a number input. Weight mapping is also completed to remove cases of stretching and tearing in the mesh. The animation is hand-keyed and loops without a seam. The idle simulates a basic relaxed pose with breathing and hand motions. The three animations are blended together in the UE4 engine and can allow the character to move about freely. The video demonstrates the three animations using the matinee control functions to control when animations are played and camera's used. It was necessary to utilize this method due to errors in the program's permissions at the campus at the time. |

Flub Fighter: Environment Concept
This is a concept animation that I made for Flub Fighter in order to demonstrate possible examples for environmental hazards and moving environment pieces. It uses primitive objects and a parent/child hierarchy keyframe animation in order to automate the various mechanical parts.
The level would feature various deadly environmental pieces in order to create hazards. To either side are the blast doors that open and close, permitting a hot plate to roll across the conveyor. The welding arms move and spark the plate when it moves beneath. In the center is the press, smashing the plate when it is below. A fan above spins and would kill any flub that came into contact. The lower area moves constantly with the conveyor, but to either side and center are stationary platforms on which to fight on, as well as the tops of the welder arms themselves. |

Lip Synch
This is a demonstration of Lip Synching in Maya to an audio clip. The various facial poses are obtained by using morph targets and sliders to merge the expressions together and simulate speech.
The Audio is taken from the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and is used under fair use as an education project by a student. Copyright ownership of the audio belongs to Warner Bros. |
